Is your driving license expiring soon? Renew your DL online to avoid penalties. The 2026 process allows you to submit your renewal application and pay fees digitally through Sarathi Parivahan.

How to Renew Driving License Online (2026)

Renew your driving license within one year of its expiry to avoid a driving test. After one year, you must undergo a re-test.

  1. Visit Sarathi Parivahan: Access the official portal and select your state.
  2. Select 'Apply for DL Renewal': Click on 'Driving Licence Related Services' > 'Apply for DL Renewal'.
  3. Enter DL Details: Input your Driving License number and Date of Birth. Verify your details.
  4. Fill Application (Form 9): Select the state and RTO for renewal. Confirm your details.
  5. Select Services: Check the box for "Renewal of DL". You can also update your address or change biometrics simultaneously.
  6. Upload Documents:
    • Existing Driving License.
    • Proof of Address (if address changed).
    • Medical Certificate (Form 1A): Mandatory if you are over 40 years old or holding a Transport License.
  7. Pay Fees: Pay the renewal fee online via net banking or cards.
  8. Biometrics Appointment: Book a slot for biometrics capture (photo/signature) at the RTO if required by your state.
